Bill Cassidy is an experienced commercial litigator and employment lawyer. He has litigated a wide range of disputes governed by state and federal law, including cases under various intellectual property statutes, the Florida Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act, the Securities Exchange Act, and Title III of the ADA. Bill also represents management clients in employment law, including Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, FLSA, employers before the NLRB in matters involving concerted activity, and employers in both Florida and federal whistle-blower actions.

Nicole Newlon is a commercial litigator with experience representing clients in arbitration and litigation matters, administrative investigations, proceedings before state and federal regulatory agencies and self-regulatory organizations, and in state, federal, and appellate courts. Nicole has defended matters involving heath care fraud, environmental crimes, and qui tam actions, and she also advises corporate and private clients in a broad range of civil, regulatory and compliance matters.

Chris DeCort is a commercial litigator with experience representing clients in state and federal courts. He focuses his practice on complex commercial litigation matters, with an emphasis on contract disputes. He has represented clients in employment contract enforcement and negotiation matters, commercial tort cases, professional negligence/liability litigation, officer and director and corporate litigation, commercial and residential foreclosures, commercial evictions, and first-party insurance cases.  


James Jeffrey Burns

Jeff is the newest addition to the team at Johnson & Cassidy, where his practice focuses on general business and commercial litigation. Jeff graduated magna cum laude from the Florida State University College of Law in May 2014, where he earned four book awards and served as Executive Article Editor for the Florida State University Law Review. As a result of his dedication to the Law Review, Jeff's fellow members honored him with the Outstanding Editor of the Year award.

Steve Tabano is an experienced commercial litigator whose practice emphasizes eminent domain, inverse condemnation and other transportation and real estate related matters such as access issues, outdoor advertising permitting, and relocation benefits. He has tried numerous jury and bench trials as well as administrative proceedings in these areas. Steve’s clients have included big box retailers, fast food restaurants, “mom and pop” businesses, and home owners. He has served as lead counsel for private property and business owners, and governmental entities. Steve is also a Florida Supreme Court certified circuit civil mediator.
