Steve Tabano, who is Of Counsel to the firm, spoke recently to the Real Property Section of the Saint Petersburg Bar Association on eminent domain issues. Steve’s talk, titled ““Sometimes It Isn’t Just About the Money”, focused on the fact that, more often than not, money usually satisfies the government’s obligation to pay full compensation to a property or business owner, but sometimes a non-monetary benefit (such as a driveway connection) or concession (taking an easement rather than fee title) is of equal or greater value and shouldn’t be overlooked.
